I’ve been looking for a super-cute cardigan just like this to make for myself! thanks!!! it’s so feminine and a little 50′s or 60′s reminiscent. I love the neckline, and then the way it’s open below the collar button, and the 3/4 length sleeves! very spring-ish, too!

Teresa, if you use the Cool Cotton (Smiley’s Yarn) you’ll be rewarded with a super-soft lightweight sweater. This would work well for summer evenings too.

    Hi,
This is a beautiful pattern, but I am much smaller than this size. I am a 34″ bust (similar hips). Instead of chaining 68, which i assume is 40″long, can I just make a chain 34″ long and then continue working in this pattern with fewer stitches? What would you recommend?

Patrice, you can’t just make a chain 34″ long. You must make a small swatch (I always use 20 stitches) and work in the pattern for the sweater. When you are done, measure how many stitches equal 4″ and how many rows equal 4″. Let’s say you get 12 stitches and 12 rows equal 4″. Then 3 stitches equal 1″ and three rows equal 1″. Multiply 3 X 17 to see how long your chain must be (17″ for the front and 17″ for the back). In this example your chain must be 51 chains. Since the pattern must be worked for an odd number of stitches and you need 1 turning chain, you would have to chain 52 in this example. Then you will have to adjust your neck width, armhole length and depth and sleeve length. You can actually write your whole pattern out just using math and your measurements!

Diana, I have no idea! I do not have any trouble downloading or printing it but I know that other readers have had the same problem with some of my patterns. If you will give me a day or two, I will try to convert this pattern to pdf. It doesn’t always work but I will try. :-)

Diana, it worked! Unfortunately the format is not great but it is there and you can download it or print it now. Just click on the link in ” Free Clothing Patterns ” and it will take you to the post. The PDF file is in red at the top.

Hi Judith! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I am still learning pattern writing and recently finished a class that I hope will make my patterns better. I hope to be able to offer various sizes with my next one!
