Assembly
Pin back to right and left fronts at shoulders, right sides together. I like to use the tiny claw barrettes to hold my pieces in place. They will not fall out like straight pins do. Just be careful that you don’t snag your fibers. Sew the shoulders together with an overcast seam. Lay your garment pieces out flat, right side up, and pin your sleeve caps to the armhole edges, right sides together. Sew these seams. Pin back to fronts at sides and continue to pin sleeve edges together at underarms. Sew all seams.
Neck and Front Bands
With G hook and right side of sweater facing you, attach yarn with a sl st in the bottom corner of the right front. Sc around entire bottom edge of jacket. Work 3 sc in last ch and continue to work a row of sc along left front. Work 3 sc at neck corner and work around neckline to next corner . Work 3 sc in this corner and continue to work in sc down the left front of the sweater, making sure that the front bands, are evenly worked, and will lie flat. At the bottom corner, ch 1 and turn. Work another row of sc up left front, across neck, and down right front, placing 3 sc into neck edge corners. Ch 1, turn. Work 3 more rows of sc around the sweater fronts and neck edges. Fasten off. Sew three small buttons on top of left front band.
Trim
With right side facing you, attach yarn with a sl st in bottom corner of right front. Sc in same st, *sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st* Work pattern between * and * to make 12 scallops along right front. Work 2 more sc in last st, *sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st*. Work pattern between * and* to corner of left front. Place 2 more sc in corner st and continue to work scallops down left front to bottom edge. Fasten off. Buttons will slip into holes in trim. With right side facing, join yarn at sleeve edges and work 1 row of sc around sleeves. Fasten off.
